  • More fish = glowy skin. We are all looking for that summer glow and it turns out eating fish can give you just that! Fish provides beneficial omega-3 fatty acids that decrease inflammation. This lessens the chance of your skin looking red and puffy. Fish are also an excellent source of protein which helps maintain skin elasticity and structure.

  • Looking to boost your brain function?! Eating more fish can help you do that. The anti-inflammatory properties of fish protect the brain as it ages and research links fish consumption to reduced mental decline in older adults.

  • Fish is one of the most heart-healthy foods you can eat as it may lower your risk of heart disease. It is believed that fattier fish are even more beneficial for heart health due to the higher omega-3 content.

  • Fish is great for pregnancy too! Docosahexaenoic Acid (aka DHA) is a type of omega-3 fat, which is important for baby’s brain development.  Lots of women worry about fish intake due to high levels of mercury found in some fish. To avoid this, aim to eat low-mercury fish like sardines, trout, salmon, and mackerel. The smaller the fish, the lower the mercury! Also, soon-to-be momma’s should avoid raw or uncooked fish as this can potentially harm the baby.
